You are looking for a perfect olive tree. Where can you find it? Finca Hermosa gives you tips on how to look for an old, healthy olive tree.

#1 - Get the tree from Spain
It depends on what kind of tree you are looking for. If you are interested in a young olive tree, you should get it from a local grower. If there are no local growers, look for an olive tree nursery.

However, if you are looking for an old olive tree, it is wise to look for a good nursery in southern Europe. Finca Hermosa is a 550,000 m2 nursery in Spain. The trees are grown in their natural habitat, so you get a healthy tree. Did you know that some of our trees are more than 1,000 years old?

#2 - Ask for photos
You first want to see if an olive tree fits in your garden or terrace. Ask for pictures (several sides) and ask for measurements. In that case you can find a perfect tree.

#3 - Ask for certificates
Quality and sustainability are important concerns. Find out if an olive farm is certified (PPQS and MPS). Finca Hermosa , for example, is both PPQS (Plant Production Quality System) and MPS certified. These certifications are just an example of the professionalism that is embedded in Finca Hermosa and highlights to our customers how high quality work is done here on the farm.

#4 - Ask for a quotation
Price is important. You don't want to pay too much for an olive tree, but you don't want to pay too little either. Strange, isn't it? No, let's explain at #5.

#5 - Dispatch and placement
One of the most important aspects of buying an olive tree is shipping and placement. An olive tree is fragile. Trees do not normally travel. The journey is long and the destination may be cold, windy or very hot. If the tree dies during transport or shortly after installation, it is a great loss to nature and to your wallet. Choose a certified olive tree company that can ship and plant the olive tree and that offers a guarantee. Finca Hermosa offers the possibility of having an expert gardener at your disposal when the tree arrives.
