Citrus Latifolia - Lime tree
Citrus Latifolia or Persian Lime is a medium-sized thornless perennial tree whose fruit is the lime or Persian lemon, which is edible and very fragrant. It can grow up to 4.5 to 6 metres high with a very branched and open crown. The leaves are 3-11 cm long, elliptical in shape, leathery and glossy green in colour, with winged petioles. The flower of the lime tree is the lime blossom ('azahar'), which is the same flower as that of the orange tree, albeit with a slightly purplish white colour, unlike the usual white of the orange blossom.
